Where viviana pebble performs best

Viviana Pebble provides the greatest improvement in situations where the body would normally block the transmitter antenna.

Typical examples include:

• Open outdoor environments
• Large studios or stages
• When transmitters are worn under clothing or costumes
• When talent frequently turns away from the receive antennas

In these scenarios Viviana Pebble can significantly improve usable range and signal stability.

Where the difference may be smaller

Viviana Pebble is designed to solve the specific problem of body absorption.

If that problem is not present, the improvement may naturally be less noticeable.

Examples include:

• When the transmitter antenna is not close to the body
• Indoor environments with strong RF reflections

In these situations Viviana Pebble will still perform well, but the improvement compared with a whip antenna may be smaller.

LAB COMPARISON (PEBBLE vs WHIP)

Test results conducted at the Cambridge laboratory in an anechoic chamber:

These plots show the absolute radiated gain of each antenna in all directions when worn on a body phantom that simulates the electrical properties of the human torso.

• The shape and size of each plot indicate how strongly the antenna radiates in different directions
• The colours represent the level of radiated gain, with warmer colours indicating higher gain and cooler colours indicating lower gain
• The views labeled Front and Back show the radiation pattern on each side of the body

In simple terms:

A larger plot with warmer colours means the antenna is radiating more effectively in those directions

HOW TO WEAR THE PEBBLE

To wear the Pebble, you can use the Viviana Extreme Straps (single pouch version) by placing the Pebble inside one of the two pouches designed for the lav mic cable.

IMPORTANT: The back side of the Pebble, where it is marked “BACK,” must be in contact with the body.

The cable connecting the Viviana Pebble to the TX can be placed inside the Pebble pouch, but it must stay on the back side (where “BACK” is marked), and absolutely not on the front or on the sides of the Viviana Pebble.

Viviana Pebble is super low profile and easy to conceal on any part of the body. It is essential that the side marked “BACK” is always in contact with the body.

Even after that, they remain functional, but we suggest replacing them periodically to ensure maximum hygiene and performance.

Viviana Straps Extreme can be washed either by hand or in a washing machine at 40 °C (104 °F).
